Benjamin Franklin is famous for saying, “Don’t put off until tomorrow what you can do today.”  The Gospel in today’s reading is saying that we don’t know when Jesus is coming back to take us home.

Are you ready for the trip?

Do you have relationships you need to make right?

Are there issues in your life that you need to deal with?

Is there somebody that God has put in your life who needs to hear the Good News so that he or she can get ready too?

We having a saying in my church, St. Peter Claver in New Orleans, that “He is an ‘on time’ God.”  This means that God may not come when we want Him to, but is timing is perfect.  We may some situations that we are struggling with and we may wonder why God would allow such suffering, but we are called to trust Him.  He may be preparing the blessing that you will receive after the suffering, or He may be preparing you to receive the blessing.  We are just called to trust in His timing in our lives.  God is always working things out for our betterment.

We don’t know when Jesus is coming, but we do know that it could be any time. SO GET READY!
